    कहैं क‍बीर तजि भरम को, नन्‍हा है कर पीव। तजि अहँ गुरु चरण गहु, जमसों बाचै जीव।।४८२।।

    Kabir says to abandon delusions, as the child (soul) should hold onto the Guru’s feet. By forsaking ego and taking refuge in the Guru’s feet, one can be freed from the cycle of birth and death.

    पंडित पढि़ गुनि पचि मुये, गुरु बिन मिले न ज्ञान। ज्ञान बिना नहिं मुक्ति है, सत्त सब्‍द परमान।।४८७।।

    The learned scholar may read and know many scriptures, but without the Guru, true knowledge is unattainable. Without knowledge, liberation is not possible; truth is beyond mere words.

    मूल ध्‍यान गुरु रूप है, मूल पूजा गुरु पांव। मूल नाम गुरु वचन है, मूल सत्‍य सतभाव।।४९०।।

    The root of meditation is the form of the Guru; the root of worship is the Guru's feet. The root of the name is the Guru’s word, and the root of truth is the essence of the Guru’s teachings.

    जो गुरु पूरा होय तो, शीषहि लेय निबाहि। शीष भाव सुत जानिये, सुत ते श्रेष्‍ठ शिष आहि।।४९३।।

    If the Guru is complete, he accepts the offering of the head (or humility). One who offers his head (or is humble) is considered the best disciple.

    गुरु को सिर पर राखिये, चलिये आज्ञा माहिं। कहैं कबीर ता दास को, तीन लोक भय नाहिं।।४९४।।

    Keep the Guru on your head (or respect the Guru), and follow His commands. Says Kabir, the servant of the Guru, there is no fear in the three worlds.

    बिन सद्गुरु बाचै नहीं, फिर बूड़े भव मांहि। भौसागर की त्रास से, सतगुरु पकड़े बाहि।।४९९।।

    Without the True Guru, one cannot escape the cycle of birth and death. The True Guru holds your hand to save you from the fear of the worldly ocean.
