ज्ञानी भूले ज्ञान कथि, निकट रहा निज रूप। बाहिर खोजै बापुरै, भीतर वस्तु अनूप।।४६२।।
The wise forget the essence of knowledge, remaining close to their own nature. They search outside, while the essence is within.
आपा मेटे हरि मिले, हरि मेटे सब जाई। अकथ कहानी प्रेम की, कोई नहीं पतियाय।।४६३।।
When the self is erased, one meets the Divine. When the Divine is realized, everything else fades away. The story of love is beyond words; no one understands it.
जिहि घट प्रीति न प्रेम रस, पुनि रसना नहीं राम। ते नर इस संसार में, उपजि भए बेकाम।।४६४।।
In the body where there is no love or the essence of love, the tongue cannot taste the Divine. Those who lack this love in this world, become useless.
राम नाम कड़वा लगे, मीठा लागे दाम। दुविधा में दोनों गए, माया मिली ना राम।।४६५।।
The name of Ram may seem bitter, while money seems sweet. In the dilemma of both, neither the illusion of wealth nor the name of Ram is attained.
भागे भला न होएगा, कहा धरोगे पाव। सिर सौंपो सीधे लड़ो, काहे करौ कुदाव।।४६६।।
Running away will not do any good, where will you go with your feet? Surrender your head and fight directly, why act foolishly?
गुरु गोविन्द दोऊ खड़े, काके लागूँ पांय। बलिहारी गुरु आपने, गोविन्द दियो मिलाय।।४६७।।
Both Guru and Govind are standing, to whom should I bow? I am devoted to the Guru who has given me the vision of Govind (God).
गुरु नारायन रूप है, गुरु ज्ञान को घाट। सतगुरु बचन प्रताप सों, मन के मिटे उचाट।।४६८।।
The Guru is the form of Narayan (God) and the source of knowledge. By the glory of the true Guru's words, the mind's dissatisfaction is removed.
जैसी प्रीति कुटुंब की, तैसी गुरु सों होय। कहें कबीर ता दास को, पला न पकड़े कोय।।४६९।।
The love one has for family should be the same as that for the Guru. Kabir says that the true disciple is not held back by anything.
गुरु समान दाता नहीं, याचक शिष्य समान। तीन लोक की संपदा, सो गुरु दीन्हीं दान।।४७०।।
There is no giver like the Guru, and no seeker like the disciple. The wealth of the three worlds is given as a gift by the Guru.
गुरु को मानुष जानते, ते नर कहिए अन्ध। होय दुखी संसार में, आगे जम का फन्द।।४७१।।
Those who recognize the Guru as a human are blind. In this world of suffering, they are trapped in the snare of death.
गुरु पारस को अन्तरो, जानत हैं सब संंत। वह लोहा कंचन करे, ये करि लेय महंत।।४७२।।
The Guru is like a philosopher's stone, known by all saints. He turns iron into gold, and the wise take his essence.
गुरु की आज्ञा आवई, गुरु की आज्ञा जाय। कहैं कबीर सो संत है, आवागमन नशाय।।४७३।।
Obedience to the Guru's command brings liberation, and thus one is free from the cycle of birth and death.
गुरु महिमा गावत सदा, मन राखे अति मोद। सो भव फिर आवै नहीं, बैठे प्रभु की गोद।।४७४।।
Constantly singing the glory of the Guru, and keeping the mind in great joy, one does not return to the cycle of rebirth but remains in the Lord’s embrace.
सुनिये सन्तों साधु मिलि, कहहिं कबीर बुझाय। जेहि विधि गुरु सों प्रीति है, कीजे सोइ उपाय।।४७५।।
Listen, saints and sages, Kabir speaks to explain: Follow the method of love for the Guru, and do as you are taught.
गुरु गोविन्द करि जानिये, रहिये शब्द समाय। मिलै तो दण्डवत बंदगी, नहिं पल पल ध्यान लगाय।।४७६।।
Recognize the Guru as the Lord and the Sustainer. When you meet him, offer obeisance and not just practice meditation every moment.
गुरु सों प्रीति निबाहिये, जेहि तत निबहै संत। प्रेम बिना ढिग दूर है, प्रेम निकट गुरु कंत।।४७७।।
Maintain love with the Guru as saints maintain their love. Without love, it is distant; with love, the Guru is near.
तन मन ताको दीजिए, जोको विषया नाहि। आपा सब ही डारि के, राखै साहिब माहिं।।४७८।।
Give your body and mind to the one who is free from desires. Leave all else and keep only the Master.
गुरु शरणागत छाड़ि के, करै भरोसा और। सुख सम्पति को कह चली, नहीं नरक में ठौर।।४७९।।
Leaving the refuge of the Guru and relying on others leads to abandoning happiness and wealth, and there is no place in hell for such a person.
कबीर ते नर अंध हैं, गुरु को कहते और। हरि के रूठे ठौर है, गुरु रूठे नहिं ठौर।।४८०।।
Kabir says that those who call the Guru a mere mortal are blind. While there is a place where the Lord might be displeased, there is no place where the Guru would be displeased.
