I have two companions, one is Vaishnava and the other is Ram. One is the giver of liberation, and the other is the one who remembers the name.
Kabir roamed through the forests for the sake of his own Ram. Those who are like Ram are able to fulfill all tasks.
Kabir likens himself to a piece of sandalwood sitting among the arjun and palash trees. Those who are like him would recognize this resemblance.
Kabir speaks of eating hundreds of pots but finding no one to drink the water. When one meets the Ganga, all becomes sanctified.
The kajal (eyeliner) is in the room of kajal, and the kajal itself is the boundary. I am devoted to that servant who is shielded by Ram.
The cloth of devotion is priceless and cannot be tainted. The black kanti (necklace) is revered and adorned.
The soul that I see is the same as the Saligram. The saint's visible form is more significant than the stone.
The mind is in Mathura, the heart in Dwarka, and the body knows Kashi. The tenth door is the temple where the light is known.
Kabir says that worshipping in the external world is futile. The Lord resides within the heart, so seek Him there.
If you cut it, it will burn; if you water it, it will wither. The qualities of this fruitful vine are beyond description.
In the courtyard, the vine has heavenly fruit, not the milk of the worldly cow. The hare’s horn is an illusion, just like a barren woman’s son.
The creation of a woman is like the excitement of a festival. When the truth is revealed, it becomes evident like a festival day.
The soul, delayed by life, fails to perceive the invisible. Govind cannot be found by shallow intellect, it's a pursuit of enlightenment.
Building a home in Kashi, drinking pure water. But liberation is not possible without God's name, so says Kabir.
The horse of Hari is saddled with Brahma's knowledge. With the moon and sun as stirrups, the wise saint mounts it.
The brave have no head, the donor has no wealth. The devoted wife has no body, yet her essence resides in her husband.
When the head moves, the Lord sees; the good ones have horses. Kabir’s steps are joyous; what he did was auspicious.
The essence flows like molten iron, breaking the chains of iron. Above death, Kabir has climbed, reaching the ultimate goal.
The remaining edge of Kabir's sword is sharp and cuts in two. It strikes like a mighty blow, an unerring blade.
Sitting at the window of Ram, receiving all greetings. Each is given according to their service to him.
The game is played on a board with four squares, and half the market. Kabir plays with Ram, never facing defeat.
If I lose, it is the honor of Hari, if I win, it is the wager. Playing with the Supreme Being, whether the head is lost or not.
The game is played with the players, and joy increases. Now the dice are cast, and love binds the ages.
The eternal is present on the perishable, it does not die nor depart. For twelve months, it remains hidden, roaming with a single appearance.
The jewel arises in the heart, between the lotus of the navel. If someone ever perceives the jewel, they will never face any misfortune.
The jewel is the name of the Lord; look within the heart. It fills both inside and outside, this is the true sign.
The jewel of Ram’s name is in liberation, the treasure is open within the vessel. It is given with conditions, but there is no buyer.
Scattered pearls fall, half of them are taken away. Without the light of the Lord, the world is turned upside down.
Everyone considers their own head as the most valuable. The teachings of Hari are rare, yet no one understands their significance.
Kabir makes a plea, listen, O saints, carefully. Show me the path of the Creator, and reveal it to me.
O Lord, your power and oppression are evident, while my plea is useless. Your reputation is at stake, and the honor of seeking refuge is on the line.
You have faults within you and virtues within you; your virtues and faults are within me. If I forget you, you forget me as well.
Why should I be forgotten by you? Where should I go for refuge? Even Shiva, Vishnu, and Sage Narada, their hearts cannot contain it.
Kabir has made a mistake and ruined himself; do not make your heart dirty. O Lord, what is needed is humility, not continuous defilement.
If faults are committed, many are committed. One does not accept defeat. Either the person is forgiven, or their neck is struck down.
My faults are my inheritance, O merciful one, forgive me. If I am a wayward son, then you, as my father, will be shamed.
The divine is one, though names are two. Kabir says, hearing two names creates confusion and doubt.
Ram and Rahim are one, though names are different. Kabir says that hearing two names leads to confusion and misperception.
Kashi and Kabah are the same, as are Ram and Rahim. Kabir sits and eats, reflecting on the unity in all.
Many names exist for one thing; recognize the essence rather than focusing on names. Understand the true nature of things.
The name of the infinite Brahman cannot be fully understood by words. Accept the truth with your mind, Kabir says.
Take the essence from all; do not focus on superficial words. Do not show partiality, Kabir advises.

Ram and Kabir are one, though they are spoken of as two. Only those who have met the true Guru understand this.
All forms are manifestations of the Divine. The letter and its meaning are one, Kabir says.
It is not a matter of seeing or speaking; it is beyond that. The beginning and end are found in the divine, within the heart of the devotee.
A city can only be known when there is one king. In a land with multiple rulers, no one has ever seen true happiness.
All are one who remembers the name of Hari. What use is identifying objects, when you have the essence of devotion?
Leaving the limited, one attains the infinite, holding a bowl. The beggar became humble, and the vision became pure.
Leaving the limited, one attains the infinite, and the coverings were removed. The servant Kabir found the divine, that is to say, Rahman.
Consider the infinite, abandon the limited, and with the abandoning of limits, live in constant embrace.
The constant, pure essence is beyond form, like the river Ganga flowing from east to west, bringing immense light.
The infinite nectar is beyond limits, yet these creatures live within bounds. Those who are confined by limits can never taste this nectar.
One cannot find the nectar within limits; it is abundant in the infinite. Understanding the essence of limits and the infinite reveals this nectar.
Bound by limits, the infinite is experienced; every moment it reveals light. The mind should be kept there where the unstruck sound of the divine is heard.

Sitting within limits, one cannot understand the infinite. Understanding the infinite comes only when one transcends these limits.
Kabir does not speak openly with those bound by limits. To those who are in tune with the infinite, he reveals the inner truth.
The limited person remains within limits, while the infinite person remains infinite. Just as the medicine is suited to the disease, so is the spiritual solution to the condition.
One who remains within limits is human, while one who dwells in the infinite is a sage. To transcend both limits and the infinite is to possess profound understanding.

A person who consumes meat is known to be a visible demon. Associating with such a person harms one's devotion.
Those who consume meat are degraded, and those who drink alcohol are lowly. They destroy the moral values of their lineage; Ram says they are the lowest.

They commit slaughter by force, claiming it is permissible. When God asks for an account, what will be their state?
Oppression by force is cruelty, for which God will demand an answer. The creator stands before the murderer, and their actions will devour them.
Master and servant share the same mind, they merge in spirit. Cunning does not please, only the love of the heart does.
