शब्‍द खांजि मन बस कर, सहज जोग है येह। सत्त शब्‍द निज सार है, यह तो झूठी देह।।१०२१।।

Make the word dwell in your mind, this is the true yoga. The true word is the essence, while this body is false.

जिह्वा में अमृत बसै, जो कोई जानै बोल। विष बासुकि का ऊतरे, जिह्वा तनै हिलोल।।१०२२।।

Nectar resides on the tongue of one who knows how to speak. Even the poison of the serpent can be overcome with a wise tongue.

कबीर सार शब्‍द निज जानि के, जिन कीन्‍ही परतीति। काग कुमत तजि हंस ह्वै, चले सु भौजल जीति।।१०२३।।

Kabir says, those who realize the essence of the word and have faith, leave the crow's mentality and become swans, crossing the ocean of life.

शब्‍द सम्‍हारे बोलिये, शब्‍द के हाथ न पांव। एक शब्‍द औषधि करे, एक शब्‍द करे घाव।।१०२४।।

Speak words carefully, as they have neither hands nor feet. One word can heal like medicine, while another can wound like a weapon.

शब्‍द गुरु का शब्‍द है, काया का गुरु काय। भक्ति करै नित शब्‍द की, सत्‍गुरु यौं समुझाय।।१०२५।।

The word is the guru's word, and the body is the guru's body. One should constantly worship the word, as the true guru teaches.

शब्‍द उपदेस जु मैं कहुँ, जु कोय मानै संत। कहै कबीर विचारि के, ताहि मिलावौं कंत।।१०२६।।

The teaching of the word that I give, if any saint accepts it, says Kabir, after careful reflection, I will unite them with the Divine.

बोलै बोल विचारि के, बैठे ठौर संभारि। कहैं कबीर ता दास को, कबह न आवै हारि।।१०२७।।

Speak only after careful thought, and act with caution. Kabir says, such a servant of God never faces defeat.

एक शब्‍द सुख खानि है, एक शब्‍द दुख रासि। एक शब्‍द बन्‍धन काटै, एक शब्‍द गल फांसि।।१०२८।।

One word can be a source of joy, and another a cause of sorrow. One word can break bonds, and another can ensnare the neck.

जीवन में मरना भला, जो मरि जानै कोय। मरना पह‍िले जो मरै, अजर अमर सो होय।।१०२९।।

It is better to die while living, if one knows how. One who dies before death, becomes eternal and immortal.

मन को मिरतक देखि के, मति माने विश्‍वास। साधु तहां लौं भय करे, जौ लौ पिंजर सांस।।१०३०।।

Seeing the mind as dead, do not trust it. The saint remains cautious as long as there is breath in the body.

जब लग आश शरीर की, मिरतक हुआ न जाय। काया माया मन तजै, चौडे़ रहा बजाय।।१०३१।।

As long as there is attachment to the body, one is not truly dead. When one renounces body, illusion, and mind, they achieve true liberation.

जीवत मिरतक होय रहै, तजै खलक की आस। रच्‍छक समरथ सद्गुरु, मति दुख पावै दास।।१०३२।।

Living as though dead, renouncing worldly desires, and trusting the true Guru as protector, the servant never suffers.

पांचों इन्द्रिय छठा मन, सम संगत सूचंत। कहैं कबीर जग क्‍या करे, सातों गांठ निश्चिन्‍त।।१०३३।।

The five senses and the mind together make six, with the right company, Kabir says, the seven knots become free of worries.

भक्‍त मरे क्‍या रोइये, जो अपने घर जाय। रोइये साकट बापुरे, हाटों हाट बिकाय।।१०३४।।

Why weep when a devotee dies, for they return home. Weep for the unfortunate non-believer, who is sold in the marketplace of the world.

अजहूं तेरा सब मिटै, जो जग मानै हार। घर में झगरा होत है, सो घर डारो जार।।१०३५।।

Even now you can overcome everything if you accept defeat in the world. If there is conflict in your house, burn it down and leave.

मैं मेरा घर जालिया, लिया पलीता हाथ। जो घर जारो आपना, चलो हमारे साथ।।१०३६।।

I have burned my house, taking the torch in hand. Those who burn their own house, come with me.

मैं जानूं मन मरि गया, मरि के हुआ भूत। मूये पीछे उठि लगा, ऐसा मेरा पूत।।१०३७।।

I thought my mind was dead and became a ghost. But after dying, it arose again, just like my own child.

शब्‍द विचारी जो चले, गुरुमुख होय निहाल। काम क्रोध व्‍यापै नहीं, कबहूं न ग्रासै काल।।१०३८।।

Those who walk with consideration of the word and are aligned with the Guru, are blessed. Lust and anger do not affect them, and death never consumes them.

सुर सती का सहज है, घड़ी इक का घमसान। मरै न जीवै मरजिवा, धमकत रहे मसान।।१०३९।।

The state of a true saint is natural, but it can be turbulent for a moment. Neither fully dead nor alive, they hover around the cremation ground.

कबीर मिरतक देखकर, मति धारो विश्‍वास। कबहूं जागै भूत ह्वे, करै पिंड का नाश।।१०४०।।

Kabir says, do not trust a dead person as they might wake up as a ghost and destroy the body.
