कबीर थोड़ा जीवना, माढै बहुत मढ़ान। सबही ऊभा पंथ सिर, राव रंक सुलतान।।९२१।।

Kabir says life is short, and the world is very deceptive. All paths are open, whether for kings or commoners.

पाकी खेती देखि के, गरबहिं किया किसान। अजहूं झोला बहुत है, घर आवै तब जान।।९२२।।

Seeing clean farming, the farmer is proud. Even now, the bag is full, only when he returns home will he realize.

यह औसर चेत्‍या नहीं, पशु ज्‍यौं पाली देह। राम नाम जान्‍यो नहीं, अन्‍त पड़े मुख खेह।।९२३।।

This opportunity is not recognized, like animals maintaining the body. Not knowing the name of Ram, in the end, one faces suffering.

कुल खाये कुल उबरै, कुल राखै कुल जाय। राम निकुल कुल भोटिया, सब कुल गया बिलाय।।९२४।।

One's lineage eats and supports, and then lineage perishes. The name of Ram is the true lineage, all other lineages eventually fade away.

हाड़ जले लकड़ी जले, जले जलावन हार। कातिक हारा भी जले, कासों करुं पुकार।।९२५।।

Bones burn, wood burns, and the fuel-burner burns. Even the defeat of Kartik burns, who will help now?

झूठा सब संसार है, कोउ न अपना मीत। राम नाम को जानि ले, चलै सो भौजल जीत।।९२६।।

The whole world is false, no one is a true friend. Knowing the name of Ram, one can cross the ocean of worldly existence.

दुनिया के धोखै मआ, चला कुटुंब की कानि। तब कुल की क्‍या लाज है, जब ले धरा मसानि।।९२७।।

Deceived by the world, the family’s reputation is questioned. What is the pride of lineage when the earth becomes a cremation ground?

यह बिरियां तो फिर‍ि नहिं, मन में देख विचार। आया लाभहि कारनै, जनम जुआ मति हार।।९२८।।

These worldly pleasures do not last, think and consider in your mind. Gains have come for a reason; life is like a gamble where the mind loses.

कै खाना कै सोवना, और न कोई चीत। सतगुरु शब्‍द बिसारिया, आदि अन्‍त का मीत।।९२९।।

Eating and sleeping are of no importance, there is no other concern. Forgetting the words of the true guru, is like losing the eternal friend.

आज कहै मैं काल भजुं, काल कहै फिर काल। आज काल के करत ही, औसर जासी चाल।।९३०।।

Today I say, worship Time; Time says to worship it later. Today’s actions of Time, keep delaying the opportunity.

आज काल के बीच में, जंगल होगा बास। ऊपर ऊपर हल फिरै, ढोर चरेंगे घास।।९३१।।

In the midst of Time, there will be a forest dwelling. Above, the plow moves, and cattle graze on the grass.

हाड़ जरै ज्‍यौं लाकड़ी, केस जरै ज्‍यों घास। सब जग जरता देखि करि, भये कबीर उदास।।९३२।।

Flesh burns like wood, hair burns like grass. Seeing the whole world burning, Kabir became despondent.

पानी केरा बुदबुदा, अस मानुष की जात। देखत ही छिप जाएगा, ज्‍यौं तारा प्रभात।।९३३।।

The bubbles of water are like the human race. They will disappear as soon as they are seen, like stars at dawn.

ऊजड़ खेड़े टेकरी, घड़‍ि घड़‍ि गये कुम्‍हार। रावन जैसा चलि गया, लंका को सरदार।।९३४।।

The deserted place and the potter have gone repeatedly. Like Ravana, who went to Lanka as a leader.

भय से भक्ति करै सबै, भय से पूजा होय। भय पारस है जीव को, निरभय हाय न कोय।।९३५।।

Everyone worships out of fear, and worship happens through fear. Fear is the touchstone for life, there is no one who is fearless.

भय बिन भाव न ऊपजै, भय बिनु होय न प्रीति। जब हिरदे से भय गया, मिटी सकल रस रीति।।९३६।।

Without fear, emotions do not arise, without fear there is no love. When fear departs from the heart, all the essence and rituals vanish.

आछे दिन पाछे गये, गुरु सों किया न हेत। अब पछितावा क्‍या करै, चिड़‍ियां चुग गई खेत।।९३७।।

Good days have passed, and no effort was made with the Guru. Now, what is the use of regret, as the birds have already eaten the fields?

एक दिन ऐसा होयगा, सब सों परै बिछोह। राजा राना राव रंक, सावधान क्‍यों नहिं होय।।९३८।।

One day, there will be separation from everyone. Why are not the kings, nobles, and common people alert?

मन राजा नायक भया, टांडा लादा जाय। है है है है ह्वै रही, पूंजी गयी बिलाय।।९३९।।

The mind has become the king and the hero, but the baggage of life is heavy. Alas, the wealth is gone and the misery remains.

जो जल बाढ़े नाव में, घर में बाढ़ै दाम। दोनों हाथ उलीचिये, यही सयानों का काम।।९४०।।

If water floods the boat, and money floods the home, Use both hands to bail out the water; this is the wise course of action.
