साहिब तेरी साहिबी, सब घट रही समाय। ज्यों मेहँदी के पात में, लाली रखी न जाय।।१४२।।
O Lord, your presence pervades all hearts. Just like the redness in the leaves of henna cannot be separated.
साँझ पड़े दिन बीतबै, चकवी दीन्ही रोय। चल चकवा वा देश को, जहाँ रैन नहिं होय।।१४३।।
As evening falls, the day passes away, and the chakvi (bird) cries. Go, chakva, to that land where there is no night.
लकड़ी कहै लुहार की, तू मति जारे मोहिं। एक दिन ऐसा होयगा, मैं जारौंगी तोहि।।१४४।।
The wood says to the blacksmith, 'Do not burn me.' One day will come when I will burn you.
ज्ञान रतन का जतनकर, माटी का संसार। आय कबीर फिर गया, फीका है संसार।।१४५।।
Protect the jewel of wisdom, as the world is made of dust. Kabir says, once you come and go, the world seems pale.
ॠद्धि सिद्धि माँगो नहीं, माँगो तुम पै येह। निसि दिन दरशन शाधु को, प्रभु कबीर कहुँ देह।।१४६।।
Do not ask for wealth and powers, ask for this instead: To see the saints day and night, O Lord, says Kabir.
क्षमा बड़े न को उचित है, छोटे को उत्पात। कहा विष्णु का घटि गया, जो भुगु मारीलात।।१४७।।
Forgiveness is not appropriate for the mighty, but for the weak it causes chaos. Where did Vishnu’s vessel go, for it is bound to suffer the consequences.
राम-नाम कै पटं तरै, देबे कौं कुछ नाहिं। क्या ले गुर संतोषिए, हौंस रही मन माहिं।।१४८।।
By reciting the name of Ram, one crosses over, yet does not receive anything. What is there to be satisfied by the Guru, when the mind is still restless?
बलिहारी गुर आपणौ, घौंहाड़ी कै बार। जिनि भानिष तैं देवता, करत न लागी बार।।१४९।।
I am devoted to my Guru, more than to the grandeur of gods. He who has received the divine light from the Guru, does not face any obstacles.
ना गुरु मिल्या न सिष भया, लालच खेल्या डाव। दुन्यू बूड़े धार में, चढ़ि पाथर की नाव।।१५०।।
Neither did I find a Guru, nor did I become a disciple; greed played its tricks. The world is sinking in the flood, and I am riding a boat of stone.
सतगुर हम सूं रीझि करि, एक कह्मा कर संग। बरस्या बादल प्रेम का, भींजि गया अब अंग।।१५१।।
The True Guru has pleased me by keeping me with him. The cloud of love has poured down, and now my body is soaked.
कबीर सतगुर ना मिल्या, रही अधूरी सीष। स्वाँग जती का पहरि करि, धरि-धरि माँगे भीष।।१५२।।
Without finding the True Guru, the head remains incomplete. Wearing the disguise of a hermit, one keeps begging for blessings.
यह तन विष की बेलरी, गुरु अमृत की खान। सीस दिये जो गुरु मिलै, तो भी सस्ता जान।।१५३।।
This body is a vessel of poison, while the Guru is a mine of nectar. Even if one offers their head for the Guru, it is still considered cheap.
तू तू करता तू भया, मुझ में रही न हूँ। वारी फेरी बलि गई, जित देखौं तित तू।।१५४।।
You, you kept doing, and you became. I was not there within. Going around in circles, I am now lost in seeing you everywhere.
राम पियारा छांड़ि करि, करै आन का जाप। बेस्या केरा पूतं ज्यूं, कहै कौन सू बाप।।१५५।।
Leaving aside the beloved name of Ram, one chants the name of another. Like a courtesan's son, who is his true father?
कबीरा प्रेम न चषिया, चषि न लिया साव। सूने घर का पांहुणां, ज्यूं आया त्यूं जाव।।१५६।।
Kabir did not taste love, nor did he drink it. A guest in a deserted home comes and goes just as they arrived.
कबीरा राम रिझाइ लै, मुखि अमृत गुण गाइ। फूटा नग ज्यूं जोड़ि मन, संधे संधि मिलाइ।।१५७।।
Kabir has won over Ram by singing the nectar-like qualities of His name. Just as a pot fills up with water when it is joined to a source, the mind meets with the divine essence.
बिरह-भुवगम तन बसै, मंत्र न लागै कोइ। राम-बियोगी ना जिवै, जिवै तो बौरा होइ।।१५८।।
The body suffers from separation and intense longing; no mantra or ritual seems effective. A person separated from Ram cannot live peacefully; they become mad with longing.
इस तन का दीवा करौ, बाती मेल्यूं जीवउं। लोही सींचो तेल ज्यूं, कब मुख देख पठिउं।।१५९।।
Make this body a lamp, and the wick is the life. Pour the oil of devotion like molten iron, and then you will see the divine face.
जो रोऊँ तो बल घटै, हँसो तो राम रिसाइ। मन ही माहिं बिसूरणा, ज्यूँ घुँण काठहिं खाइ।।१६०।।
If I cry, my strength diminishes; if I laugh, Ram becomes angry. Grieving within my mind is like wood being eaten by termites.
