पार ब्रह्म बूठा मोतियां, बांधी सिषरांह। सगुरां सगुरा चुणि लिया, चूक पड़ी निगुरांह।।१७२२।।
The supreme Brahman ties the pearls in a string. The true Guru selects the genuine pearls, the false ones are left out.
कबीर हरि रस बरषिया, गिर डूंगर सिषरांह। नीर मिबाणां ठाहरै, नाऊं छापरड़ाह।।१७२३।।
Kabir says, the essence of Hari rains on the hills. The waters are abundant, and the boat drifts away.
कबीर मूंडठ करमियां, नष सिष पाषर ज्यांह। बांहणहारा क्या करै, बांण न लागै त्यांह।।१७२४।।
Kabir says, the actions of the wicked destroy the essence of the stone. What can the archer do when the arrow does not hit the mark?
कहत सुनत सब दिन गए, उरझि न सुरझया मन। कहि कबीर चेत्या नहीं, अजहूं सु पहला दिन।।१७२५।।
Days pass in hearing and speaking, yet the mind remains confused. Kabir says, if you are not aware, it is still the first day.
कहै कबीर कठोर कै, सबद न लागै सार। सुधबुध कै हिरदै भिदै, उपजि विवेक विचार।।१७२६।।
Kabir says, the harsh words do not contain essence. The heart pierced by wisdom produces discernment and contemplation.
सीतलता के कारणै, नाग बिलंबे आइ। रोम रोम विष भरि रह्मा, अमृत कहा समाइ।।१७२७।।
Due to coolness, the snake delays coming. The body is filled with poison, where is the nectar?
सरपहि दूध पिलाइये, दूधै विष ह्व जाइ। ऐसा कोई ना मिले, स्यूं सरपै विष खाइ।।१७२८।।
Give milk to the snake, it turns into poison. Such is the nature of the snake, it consumes poison.
जालौं इहै बड़पणां, सरलै पेड़ि खजूरि। पंखी छांह न बीसवै, फल लागे ते दूरि।।१७२९।।
This is the arrogance of the date palm tree. The bird does not sit in its shade, the fruit is far away.
ऊंचा कुल के कारणै, बंस बध्या अधिकार। चंदन बास भेदै नहीं, जाल्या सब परिवार।।१७३०।।
Due to high lineage, the family holds power. The sandalwood's fragrance does not fade, even if the whole family is burnt.
कबीर चंदन कै निड़ै, नींव भि चंदन होइ। बूड़ा बंस बड़ाइतां, यौं जिनि बूडे कोइ।।१७३१।।
Kabir says, sandalwood's nature is such that even its foundation is sandalwood. The old lineage is elevated, but who recognizes the old?
कबीर बहुत जतन करि कीजिये, सब फल जाय नसाय। कबीर संचै सूम धन, अन्त चोर लै जाय।।१७३२।।
Kabir says, despite much effort, all the fruits may be lost. Kabir advises to accumulate true wealth, for in the end, the thief takes it all.
कबीर औंधी खोपड़ी, कबहूं धापै नांहि। तीन लोक की सम्पदा, कब आवै घर मांहि।।१७३३।।
Kabir says, the upside-down skull never gets covered. The wealth of the three worlds, when will it come to one's home?
कबीर सूम थैली अरु श्वान भग, दोनों एक समान। घालत में सुख ऊपजै, काढ़त निकसै प्रान।।१७३४।।
Kabir says, the pot of wealth and the running dog are the same. In handling, joy arises, but in removing, life is lost.
जोगी जंगम सेवड़ा, ज्ञानी गुनी अपार। षट दर्शन से क्या बने, एक लोभ की लार।।१७३५।।
The yogi, the wandering monk, and the wise with boundless virtues all are seekers. What does six philosophies achieve when driven by greed?
रात्यूं रूंनी बिरहनीं, ज्यूं बंची कूं कुंज। कबीर अंतर प्रजल्या, प्रगट्या बिरहा पुंज।।१७३६।।
The night is spent in separation, like a deer in a thicket. Kabir says, within the soul is a burning flame, and separation manifests as a bundle of pain.
अंबर कुंजा करलियां, गरजि भर सब ताल। जिनि थैं गोबिंद बीछुटे, तिनके कौण हवाल।।१७३७।।
The sky roars with thunder, filling all the valleys. For those separated from Govind, who can offer solace?
चकवी बिछुटी रैणि की, आइ मिली परभाति। जे जन बिछुटे राम सूं, नां सुख धूप न छांह।।१७३८।।
The nightingale, separated from its mate, finds the morning. Those who are separated from Ram, neither find happiness in sunlight nor shade.
बासुरि सुख नां रैणि सुख, ना सुख सुपिनै मांहि। कबीर बिछुट्या राम सूं , नां सुख धूप न छांह।।१७३९।।
The flute does not bring happiness, nor does the night. Neither does sleep provide joy. Kabir says, those separated from Ram, neither find pleasure in sunlight nor shade.
बिरहनि ऊभी पंथ सिरि, पंथी बूझे धाइ। एक सबद कहि पीव का, कब रे मिलैंगे आइ।।१७४०।।
The separation causes pain, the traveler understands and runs on the path. Speaking one word to the beloved, when will we meet again?
